Wire Shelf Dividers
The Wire Shelf Divider (WSD) or Toast Rack, as it is sometimes called, is typically constructed from 3-5mm wire and takes on the appearance of a big white toast rack. It is typically manufactured with the wire partitions set at 100mm centres. It is generally used in lieu of divider panels to house files which may be stored and used in, say, an open shelving storage unit or cupboards, etc.. It was designed to maintain the integrity of the files in use, whereas when a file or files are removed from the storage unit, those remaining are prevented by the wire partition from falling flat onto the shelf. They are also commonly used in the same way for maintaining neat and tidy Manuals, Binders, ARCH lever files, etc., etc.. The WSD, as manufactured and stocked by Elbowroom, features a wrap over-and-under front. This design is superior in that it allows your ON-SHELF filing to be placed and retrieved without the front bar interfering with, or damaging, the file. This product is recommended by Elbowroom as a low cost accessory for ON-SHELF filing, ideally suited to numeric filing systems where the file size (thickness) is not likely to grow by more than say 10%, before culling occurs.
